About Action Corps: Action Corps is a humanitarian advocacy organization working to build grassroots power for peace and economic justice in U.S. foreign policy. We do this through advocacy, public education, coalition-building, and grassroots organizing.
Fellowship Overview: Action Corps is looking for a fellow interested in gaining skills in advocacy, organizing, communications, and foreign policy. Fall 2026 organizing fellows will focus on the campaign for a permanent end to the war against Iran.
Candidates should be willing to ask others for commitments to action, including cold calling and follow-ups. Candidates should have strong skills in written communication and basic knowledge of platforms such as Google Suite and Zoom. Candidates should be able to manage their own goal-setting and follow-through. We are looking for individuals with a collaborative spirit and the ability to work in a bipartisan fashion. They should have a personal interest in campaigning or community organizing, humanitarianism, and/or global justice.
Core Skills to be developed throughout the fellowship:
- Advocacy
- Strategic and effective outreach to elected officials and staff.
- Conducting advocacy meetings and awareness-raising activities.
- Organizing
- Finding community partners in specific constituencies and developing relationships.
- Helping in facilitation and logistics of meetings to engage volunteers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Communications
- Creating a unified message across a campaign, in sync with the overall goals of the organization.
- Consistently posting campaign messaging on multiple platforms, tailored to multiple audiences.
- Foreign Policy
- Analyzing policy materials from allies and assessing their fit with Action Corps campaigns.
- Creating communications and educational materials based on policy stances to incorporate into advocacy and organizing work.
Goals:
- Have 5 letters to the editor and/or op-eds published in local papers from five different constituents.
- Secure and participate in 5 meetings with congressional offices.
- Contribute weekly to social media pages, monthly to the website.
- Create a database of state-specific partner organizations for outreach, including organizations representing veterans, faith, humanitarian, libertarian, progressive, and peace constituencies. Document collaboration with 3 or more of these groups such as their signature on sign-on letter or their participation in a call with a congressional office.
- Plan and facilitate 3 action-oriented video calls and/or meetings, including recruiting attendees and preparing/executing a specific advocacy action.
